A practical accuracy check
Insert the required grade back into the weighted average. Completed contribution plus final contribution must reproduce the target; above 100% is unattainable without extra credit or changed rules.

The formula assumes the current grade already summarizes all completed work and that the final weight is entered as a percentage of the course. Dropped grades, category rules, caps and rounding policies may produce a different official result.
