TDEE / Daily Calorie Calculator
Estimate daily maintenance calories from resting energy and an activity multiplier.
Your estimate
Enter your values and calculate. Results will appear here.
Maintenance is an approximate daily energy balance point, not a measured requirement. The resting component is shown separately.
How to use this calculator
Enter adult measurements and choose the option closest to your typical activity, not your hardest single day.
Formula and methodology
Daily maintenance estimate = Mifflin–St Jeor resting energy × selected activity multiplier (1.2, 1.375, 1.55 or 1.725).
Worked example
70 kg, 175 cm, age 30 and the male coefficient gives 1,648.75 resting kcal. At multiplier 1.55, maintenance is approximately 2,556 kcal/day.
What the result means
Maintenance is an approximate daily energy balance point, not a measured requirement. The resting component is shown separately.
Limitations
The conventional activity multipliers are coarse assumptions, not validated personal measurements. Pregnancy, illness and training extremes are outside this tool’s scope.
Common mistakes
Do not add exercise calories again when your chosen activity factor already includes exercise.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between BMR and TDEE?
Resting energy is a baseline; TDEE includes an approximate allowance for daily activity.
How accurate is this estimate?
Individual needs and activity vary. A precise-looking number is not a precise measurement.
